With fathers making up an average of 75% of our client base, strengthening the paternal bond is at the heart of what we do. We prioritize targeted fatherhood classes and dedicated family reunification efforts, highlighted by our 'Family Days' hosted nine times a year at CAP to bring loved ones back together.

An overwhelming 98% of our clients arrive having experienced homelessness. To ensure their long-term success, we prioritize sustainable housing at every step. At CRI, this means connecting individuals with trusted partner housing providers; at CAP, we provide the housing directly. By establishing this vital foundation, our clients gain the stability they need to focus on what matters most: community reunification.

Ninety-six percent of participants entering Returning Home have experienced at least one Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE), and nearly one in two have experienced four or more. These early experiences—including abuse, neglect, household substance use, mental illness, domestic violence, and family incarceration—are strongly associated with increased risk for substance use disorders, justice involvement, homelessness, and chronic health challenges. At Returning Home, we recognize that lasting recovery begins by addressing the trauma behind the addiction. Through trauma-informed, evidence-based programming, we help men heal from the past, strengthen family relationships, and build stable, productive futures.
